The two words heard most by people having finished their first round at Valle del Este Golf Resort are 'spectacular' and 'challenging'. Designer Jose Canales, has managed to create a golf-course that is already considered one of the top new courses in Europe. Is it a difficult course? With ample fairways, large receptive greens and measuring only 6300 yards of the back-tees and par 71, it should not be. Yet, somehow the course manages to extract every bit of skill from even the most seasoned of golf-pro, without ever becoming unfair for the beginning golfer. Desert surroundings with the occasional view of the Mediterranean, rolling Valle del Estehills and steep cliffs make it visually spectacular. Its small round tee-boxes, as many as six on some holes, provide daunting looking carries. However, because most tee-shots are downhill, they seem much tougher on the eye that on the swing. Maintained to the highest standards, together with the regions famed climate, they make Valle del Este a golf-course that can be played all year round, making it an unforgettable experience.

Desert Springs (about 25 minutes drive away)

Needing little introduction, this course is the first desert golf course in Europe, designed by Peter McEvoy, and is built to the standards of the now famous desert courses of Arizona and California. The contrast between the beautifully prepared and manicured playing areas and the arid yet vividly coloured desert, capture the very essence of desert golf. The fairways have been kept generous to ensure golfers can enjoy their game whilst being captivated by the awesome landscape and views that embrace the Indiana. However every hole has features which can be brought into play; the springs, watercourses, dry river beds, rocks and cactus areas and bunkers are strategically located to examine the skills of golf's leading players when playing off the championship tees. Desert Springs is undoubtedly a most spectacular and unique golf course to experience.
